"Aitutaki – The pristine island with the most beautiful lagoon in the world."

ABOUT AITUTAKI

The pristine island has the most beautiful lagoon in the world. 15 motus (islets) are sprinkled across this huge turquoise, sunlit lagoon, most of which are uninhabited. The triangular-shaped lagoon is surrounded by a barrier reef, making the water very calm, shallow, and dazzling. There are many islets with untouched palm-fringed beaches and sandbars.

The most famous is One Foot Island, which is a real paradise. The highest point, Maunga Pu, stands at only 123 meters above sea level. The traditional Island nights are a fantastic cultural experience, featuring authentic music and dance performed by the locals, including children.

I was in Aitutaki in 1995, 1999, and 2003.
